Below you will find a few of my favorite illustration pieces. Mecha Girl A commission piece from 2007. This was a request from a fan who wanted to see Tara Markov in another super-heroic identity. In the comics, she was slaughtered in another shock-shlock comic book death. I was really happy with the way this one came out. Click on image to show in full detail. The Forgotten Titans This was a commission from 2007 consisting of the little-known and under-appreciated Teen Titans members: Azrael, Minion, Prysm and Mas Y Menos. Some might say there's a reason they aren't appreciated... but they were all fun to draw! Click on image to show in full detail. Amethyst Redux: Amethyst Redesign This was a pet project of mine. I wanted to redesign the DC character, Amethyst, for the 21st century. Amy Winston is a normal teenage girl who discovers she is a mystical princess of a realm known as Gemworld. She's a mostly forgotten 1980s character that could be revised to fit a whole new audience. I gave her more of a manga-esque style with maybe some Bruce Timm influence as well. Click on image to show in full detail. Amethyst Redux: Carnelian Redesign Carnelian was the badboy of the Amethyst series. Mostly bad. But toward the end of the series, he did reform. I reimagined him as a more "grey" character. Click on image to show in full detail. Amethyst Redux: Rita Redesign Amy's best friend with a (dark) opal birthstone pendant. In my version, she's a more sardonic goth chick. I'm rather fond of this redesign. Click on image to show in full detail. Amethyst Redux: Turquoise & Topaz Redesign A fiery redhead, Princess Turquoise was a spitfire warrior woman. In contrast, Prince Topaz is a mostly-gentle poet. Titans Together Commission This was a commission for a fan who wished to see his own Titans dream team! This was a lot of fun and I was able to design an all-new Green Lantern and a wizard character for the roster. Click on image to show in full detail. Terra & Ravager Commission Two Titans with 'tude: It's Terra and Ravager! What a pleasure to draw two of my favorite characters and get paid for it! Click on image to show in full detail. Titans Redesigned: Ravager & Jericho It's a superhero makeover for Deathstroke's kids! I toyed with these after DC's "One Year Later" event. Ravager - after reforming - adopts a more Nightwing-inspired costume (rather than a daddy Deathstroke inspired one). Meanwhile, brother Jericho brings some sexy back with a more Timberlake-esque look and a modernized costume. Click on image to show in full detail. Titans Tomorrow: Lost Page I drew this after reading Teen Titans #17-19, the "Titans Tomorrow" arc. Here, I drew some future Titans only mentioned, never shown, and imagined what they might look like. Here's Red Arrow, Speedy, Tempest, Mirage and Hawk & Dove. Click on image to show in full detail. Sentinels Pin-Up Here's a pin-up that appeared in the comic book indie series, Sentinels. It's really quite good so check it out! Here's Electron and Splash... when they kiss, sparks fly! I decided to draw them in their civvies as they say their magic words to transform into super-siblings. This is a version where I colored the raw pencils in photoshop. I kinda like it.
